An intermediate level seminar with focused placed on how to identify the earliest signs of sensory dysfunction and address it effectively in the natural environment of the home. This unique, two day session is designed to provide the Early Intervention Therapist with practical, low-tech strategies for working with children, from birth to 3-years old, with sensory processing dysfunction. Therapists are taught how to make and use everyday home items and how to incorporate these strategies into the infant’s daily life. Parent interaction and instructions is a core component of this workshop. Therapists will gain command of essential treatment skills that will enable them to apply a tailored approach to effectively assess and treat sensory deficits from infancy to pre-school age.

What You Will Learn?
Participants will be able to identify 3 major steps in the neurological processes that occur during SI.
Participants will be able to identify dysfunctional sensory components in the most common diagnoses on your EI caseload.
Participants will be able to identify through assessment the indicators of a modulation dysfunction, as they present in each developmental stage from birth to 3 years old.
Participants will be able to identify through assessment the indicators of a discrimination dysfunction, as they present in each developmental stage from birth to 3 years old.
Participants will be able to identify and list, specific appropriate treatment strategies to treat a modulation dysfunction.
