Help support children in the classroom environment

The Developmental Exercise & Reflex Integration Program is a one–day course for teachers and other allied professionals in the detection and remediation of neurodevelopmental delay in children with specific learning difficulties and/or coordination and movement concerns. The program can be instituted into the regular classroom environment supporting ALL children to gain the benefits of exercise while supporting those students who require additional attention.






The program is designed to improve children’s learning and behavior including concerns with:

  • Attention
  • Underachievement
  • Balance and coordination
  • Eye-hand coordination
  • Clumsiness
  • Handwriting difficulties
  • Poor impulse control
  • Dysfunction of attention
  • Motor perception

Who should attend:

This conference is directed toward Educators and members of other professions allied to Education including School Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Physical Education Teachers, Speech and Language Pathologists, and others. This training program can be utilized in the classroom as well as in physical education classes. OTs, PTs, SLPs and School Psychologists can assist or lead in the testing and implementation of the program.

    • The effects of abnormal reflexes upon the educational environment.
    • The role of reflexes in development.
    • The links between neurological development and readiness for learning.
    • Hands-on reflexes testing techniques.
    • Hands-on practical exercises.

The Presenters:
Julia Harper, MS, OTR/L

President of Therapeeds, Inc., Julia has practiced exclusively as a pediatric occupational therapist with a diversified client population and currently practices in NY and Florida. She has trained extensively, conducted research and holds advanced certifications in a variety of pediatric treatments. She is SIPT certified, lectures and trains therapist worldwide. Julia is nationally recognized for her work in SI treatment and her unique approach to providing integrative therapy.


Janessa Rick, PT

President of Hampton C.A.R.E.S., Inc., she has been practicing as a pediatric therapist for over 16 years and has developed the RCK Method, Re-Creating Kinesthetics based on her extensive background in alternative healing and holistic body work. She utilizes neuro-developmental treatment approach, pediatric developmental pilates, manual treatment, integration of retained reflex patterns and sensory motor integration to treat children and adults with a multitude of diagnosis in her clinic in Southampton, NY.
